Educational Support for Children at Children's Home
Project Details
To ensure that every child in the home has uninterrupted access to education, support is sought to meet the following essential educational needs:
School Fees — to enable each child's continued enrolment and participation in their respective courses
Study Materials — to equip children with the books, stationery, and learning resources required for their education
Uniforms — to ensure that every child is presented with dignity in their school or college environment
Shoes — to complete the basic requirements for attending educational institutions

Children's Home has a history spanning over a century, with its roots tracing back to the time of the First World War in 1914, when hundreds of orphaned children were sheltered and later educated within its premises. Formally established in 1925, the home is located at Chamarajpet, Bengaluru, and is run by Jeevan Pragathi Trust. Over the decades, the home has been a place of nurturing and opportunity — many of its former residents have gone on to build bright futures, and several have returned to their alma mater to contribute to the education and welfare of the children who follow in their footsteps.
About the Children and the Home
The home presently cares for 55 children, drawn largely from single-parent households and families affected by conflict, from both rural and urban areas in and around Bengaluru. The children are educated from Grade 6 through to Degree level.
Beyond academics, the management places strong emphasis on the holistic development of each child. Deliberate efforts are made to instill basic mannerisms, civic sense, life skills, and communication skills. Activities are regularly conducted to build cognitive and critical thinking abilities, equipping the children with competencies essential for quality living.
